Upon arrival at UCSF’s Mission Bay campus, check in at the front entrance of the William J. Rutter Center to receive your name badge and program book. Alumni Weekend staff are also available to assist with any questions.

 

Alumni Weekend Opening Session: UCSF Priorities and Breakthrough Science

Chancellor Sam Hawgood will open Alumni Weekend with an update on UCSF’s latest achievements and strategic priorities. Following his remarks, Stephen Hauser, MD, recipient of the 2025 Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences, will share how his pioneering work in redefining the treatment of multiple sclerosis has transformed patients’ lives and advanced global standards of care.

Half-Century Club Luncheon (Class of 1976 and earlier alumni)

The Half-Century Club Luncheon brings together graduates from the classes of 1976 and earlier across all UCSF schools, plus the Division of Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs and the UCSF/San Francisco State University Graduate Program in Physical Therapy. This tradition creates a shared space to reflect on our rich history and culture.

Seating will be arranged by school, allowing classmates to reconnect and celebrate the milestones that define their UCSF journey.

UCSF Talk: Global Trauma Care - UCSF’s Impact in Resource-Limited Settings

UCSF clinicians, educators, and collaborators are transforming trauma and musculoskeletal care in some of the world’s most resource-limited locations. Drawing on firsthand experience working with the Institute for Global Orthopaedics and Traumatology (IGOT), David Shearer, MD, will share innovations in training and workforce strengthening, online education, and data-driven quality improvement that have enhanced outcomes in settings where resources are scarce and the burden of injury is greatest.

This session will examine how UCSF’s commitment to global health translates into sustainable, locally driven solutions through capacity building, interdisciplinary collaboration, and long-term partnerships. Alumni will gain insight into the real-world challenges of delivering care across diverse settings, the lessons learned that inform care at home and abroad, and the vital role UCSF continues to play in shaping the future of global trauma care.

UCSF at the San Francisco Giants Game

Cap off the second day of Alumni Weekend with an unforgettable evening at the San Francisco Giants game! Join fellow UCSF alumni and friends in an exclusive UCSF suite, where you’ll enjoy complimentary food and drinks while cheering the Giants as they face the Miami Marlins.

Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase on the Club Level. Space is limited, and tickets will sell out.

Primary registrants can purchase a maximum of two tickets. The second ticket holder must be registered as a guest during this registration. A placeholder name can be used.

Tickets can either be sent electronically one week before the event to the email address used to register or made available for pickup at Will Call the day of the event.

Cal Night will take place during the game. If you would like to receive a Cal hat for $15, please be sure to select this option during registration.

UC Chicanx Latinx Alumni Association Presents "Student/Community Clinics — From Legacy to Leadership in Community Care."

University of California alumni who previously were involved in student-run clinics will come together to reflect on a legacy of community care — the enduring impact of UC’s Chicano Health Movement. Rooted in service to Latinx communities, student clinics were formative spaces where hands-on care, accountability to community, and collective leadership shaped alumni who now lead in health equity as clinicians, researchers, and advocates. Open to all Alumni Weekend attendees, this session explores how these early clinic experiences created health equity leaders — and why sustaining student/community clinics remains essential to advancing equitable care for future generations.
