Upon arrival at UCSF’s Mission Bay campus, check in at the front entrance of the William J. Rutter Center to receive your name badge and program book. Alumni Weekend staff are also available to assist with any questions.

 

Alumni Weekend Opening Session: Shaping the Future of Health and Discovery

Begin Alumni Weekend with a keynote session that speaks directly to UCSF’s ongoing commitment to innovation and impact in health and science. Chancellor Sam Hawgood will open with a comprehensive update on UCSF’s latest achievements, setting the stage for a thought-provoking dialogue on the historic revitalization of the Parnassus Heights campus. Chancellor Hawgood and a distinguished UCSF leader also will explore transformative changes underway – a vision that integrates pioneering research, state-of-the-art care, and academic excellence to meet the complex challenges of the present and the future.

This forward-looking dialogue will reflect our shared mission, which advances our work as a community of UCSF alumni. Together, we’ll explore how UCSF’s investments in collaborative research and cutting-edge facilities propel the institution forward and enrich and empower the vital work we undertake in the health sciences.


 

UCSF Talk - Conversation with the Deans: Shaping the Future of Health Professions Education

Join us for a unique opportunity to hear from the deans of UCSF’s schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy in a thought-provoking conversation moderated by Catherine Lucey, MD, MACP, UCSF’s executive vice chancellor and provost. This dynamic session will provide insights into the strategic vision and priorities that shape the future of health education and care at UCSF.

All-UCSF Lunch: A Celebration of Community and Connection

The All-UCSF Lunch is a welcoming, inclusive gathering open to all Alumni Weekend attendees. Join alumni from across UCSF’s schools and programs to connect, share stories, and celebrate your ties to the university.

This event also serves as a gathering space for alumni celebrating reunions from class years ending in 0 and 5. Whether you’re reconnecting with your reunion class or simply looking to enjoy good food and great company, the All-UCSF Lunch is open to everyone who wants to celebrate the UCSF spirit.


 

Half-Century Club: 50+ Years of Community with UCSF and Each Other

We welcome you to a special celebration honoring UCSF alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago. The Half-Century Club Luncheon brings together graduates from the Class of 1975 and earlier across all UCSF schools plus the Graduate Division and the UCSF/SFSU Graduate Program in Physical Therapy. This tradition that unites alumni from every UCSF school creates a shared space to reflect on our rich history and culture.

Seating will be arranged by school, allowing classmates to reconnect and celebrate the milestones that define their UCSF journey. This year, as we induct the Class of 1975 into the Half-Century Club, we invite all alumni from the classes of 1974 and earlier to join us in celebrating the enduring impact and legacy of UCSF’s alumni community.


 

UCSF Talk - Orthopedic Surgery: What Are We Doing With Our Joints?

Joint pain, arthritis, and other musculoskeletal conditions become increasingly prevalent as we age. Join us for a panel discussion with experts from the UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery who will share how UCSF is pioneering musculoskeletal discovery and innovative care to transform lives. Learn about the latest advancements in joint health, including cutting-edge research, new therapies, and state-of-the-art treatments.


 

UCSF Talk - Discovery Talks: Cutting-Edge Research, Inspiring Discoveries

The Discovery Talks bring together UCSF’s brightest minds for an hour of engaging, TEDx-style presentations. Moderated by Nicquet Blake, PhD, vice provost of student academic affairs and dean of the Graduate Division, this dynamic session showcases faculty and student innovators sharing their groundbreaking research and transformative discoveries.

Prepare to be inspired as leading UCSF researchers dive into some of today’s most pressing scientific and medical challenges in an accessible and innovative format. From advances in precision medicine to unexpected insights into human health and disease, Discovery Talks promise to deliver fresh perspectives and fascinating findings at the forefront of science.


 

Networking Reception: Connect, Celebrate, and Reflect

Join us for fun, food, and friendship at the Alumni Weekend Networking Reception! This lively gathering invites all UCSF alumni and current students to connect, share stories, and celebrate their shared experiences. With live music, hors d'oeuvres, and an ambiance that blends UCSF’s history with the energy of today’s campus life, this reception is the perfect opportunity to make new connections and reconnect with old friends before joining the UCSF community at the San Francisco Giants baseball game.

 

UCSF at the San Francisco Giants Game: An Evening of Community and Baseball

Cap off the first day of Alumni Weekend with an unforgettable evening at the San Francisco Giants game! Join fellow UCSF alumni, students, faculty, and friends in an exclusive UCSF box space, where you’ll enjoy complimentary food and drinks while cheering the Giants as they face their 2010 World Series opponent, the Texas Rangers.

Whether you're a longtime fan or new to the ballpark, this evening promises great company, memorable moments, and a thrilling game-day atmosphere.

Primary registrants can purchase a maximum of two tickets, which can either be sent electronically one week before the event to the email address used to register or made available for pickup at Will Call the day of the event.

Coffee with UCSF School Leaders: Start Your Morning with Connection and Conversation

Join us for Coffee with UCSF School Leaders, a relaxed, drop-in reception where you can connect with leaders from each UCSF school and across the UCSF community.

This event, which is new to Alumni Weekend this year, offers an inviting space for alumni to engage with UCSF’s academic leadership, share ideas, and connect with the broader UCSF community.

 

Alumni Awards Brunch: Celebrating UCSF’s Changemakers

Join us in honoring UCSF’s outstanding alumni who are making transformative impacts across health care, research, education, and community service. This annual brunch brings together distinguished alumni from all UCSF schools and departments, each recognized for their achievements, dedication, and contributions to health and science.

Connect with this year’s honorees, hear their inspiring stories, and celebrate the breadth of talent and commitment that defines our alumni community. Food Truck Social: A UCSF Community Gathering

Gather with UCSF alumni, families, friends, and affinity groups for a lively day at Parklab Gardens, San Francisco’s premier outdoor food-truck park across the street from SPARK Social SF. Enjoy a wide range of delicious bites and drinks with a $25 food voucher redeemable at any food truck vendor.

Art Walk at Mission Bay Campus

 Join your fellow alumni for an intimate guided tour where we’ll admire the collection of diverse artwork at UCSF’s Mission Bay campus as outlined in this UCSF booklet.

Please note: This hour-long tour includes extended periods of walking (approximately 500 feet from point to point) and standing but with some benches available. All works of art are located on the same level.


 

All UCSF Reception: Celebrating Connections and Closing Alumni Weekend

Join us at the All-UCSF Reception, the final celebration of Alumni Weekend! This closing event offers a vibrant space for alumni, faculty, and friends from all UCSF schools to gather, reconnect, and reflect on a memorable weekend.

With dedicated, association-specific areas, this reception is designed to foster networking and connection between community members who share common experiences and professional paths. The All-UCSF Reception is the perfect way to conclude your weekend.
